Common to All Prayers

Valid time entered — prayer must be done inside its time window
Niyyah (intention) — intention for that specific prayer
Wudu (ablution) — purity from minor impurity
Clean body, clothes, place — no impurities
Cover awrah — proper clothing coverage
Face qiblah — towards Makkah
Takbir-i-Tahrimah — start with “Allahu Akbar”
Qiyam (standing) — for recitation
Recite Surah Al-Fatihah in every rak‘ah
Ruku (bowing) — with “Subhana Rabbiyal ‘Azim”
Sajdah (prostration) — twice per rak‘ah, with “Subhana Rabbiyal A‘la”
Jilsah (sitting between prostrations)
Final Qa‘dah — last sitting for Tashahhud
Tashahhud — in final sitting
Tasleem — end with salam right and left
Tartib — correct order of actions
Al-Fatiha is recited in every rak‘ah
A surah after Al-Fatiha is recited only in the first two rak‘ahs
Fajr is aloud; Dhuhr and Asr are silent; Maghrib and Isha are partly aloud
